About Me
About Me
I am an intellectual entrepreneur and an autodidact. I research, discuss, write, and pursue whatever subject currently peaks my curiosity. These tend to fall in the social sciences, especially economics, political science, history, psychology, sociology, law, and philosophy. I do not claim to be an expert or a professional, though I do tend to specialize in economics and would like to become one someday. My array of knowledge comes from years of reading large tomes and researching the facts in my own spare time. When I was 12, I would rather watch the History Channel than cartoons. I was taught at a young age not to take the mainstream as given and have not looked back since. My goal is to bring deep philosophical topics into the forefront of public discourse and to popularize and rehash them in language that anyone can understand and discuss. Certainly everyone has an opinion and deserves a say in the problems that affect us all. In a sentence, all my work beckons my readers to “think critically and make up their own minds unconstrained.” The voluntary interactions of billions of people will decide the rest.
I am presently attending the University of Connecticut in pursuit of a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship, stated to graduate in May 2011. I hope to attend George Mason University for a post-graduate degree(s) in Economics.
I develop and oversee a political economy simulation game called POLICON.
If you want to know more about me personally, I’m always eager to meet someone new, so don’t be too shy to IM – Safnerism (AIM), Facebook (facebook.com/ryansafner) or Email (ryansafner@gmail.com) me!
